We are seeking to appoint a Year 6 teacher with excellent subject knowledge and a successful track record to join Central Walker Church of England Primary School from September 2024.
You will have experience of creating a positive, purposeful and safe learning environment where learners can thrive, and you will work alongside an existing Year 6 teacher for 3 days per week.
We are looking for a colleague who has:
- Knowledge and understanding of primary subject and curriculum areas, with experience teaching in upper KS2, and Year 6 in particular.
- A successful track record as a teacher that demonstrates high quality teaching and learning with a positive impact on pupil outcomes.
- Experience of designing and teaching effective lessons that meet the needs of all pupils.
- An ability to communicate effectively with children, young people, colleagues and parents/carers and is passionate about making a difference.
Our school is one of seven primary and secondary schools within the NEAT Academy Trust family of schools. At the heart of our trust is the aim to nurture, educate, achieve and transform the lives of all young people within the communities we serve across the North East. We have a national research school, which aims to build and strengthen networks of schools throughout the region and help them access effective education research and implement it in everyday practice.
We are an inclusive Church of England Primary School, acknowledging the rich, cultural diversity of our community. Our ethos is based on the Christian Values that we all need to help us lead a good and purposeful life. We recognise that all our children have immeasurable potential and that it is our responsibility to ensure they are given every opportunity to flourish as successful individuals. We will endeavour to achieve this by providing an environment where all children can demonstrate a love of learning, a love of life – a place for them to thrive and shine within a Christian setting.
In return we offer:
- Great opportunities for continuing professional development and a career pathway across the trust.
- A team of hardworking, dedicated and friendly staff where everyone is valued.
- The benefit of working in a highly collaborative multi academy trust.
- Membership of the Teachers’ Pension Scheme which the trust also contributes to on your behalf.
- Recognition of previous service with other schools, academies, local government etc.
- Access to an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP), delivered by Health Assured – the UK and Irelands leading wellbeing provider.
- Good public transport links via Tyne and Wear Metro and road links from the A19 and A1058 Coast Road.

For shortlisted candidates, we will conduct an online search as part of our screening.
NEAT Academy Trust
NEAT Academy Trust, usually known as NEAT, was formed in 2017 from an existing collaboration of schools within North East England.
Academy trusts are charitable companies set up to provide education for the public benefit. We are a “mixed” multi-academy trust as we were established to include both non-faith and Church of England schools.
