Schools North East is the UK’s first and only regional schools-led charity, representing a network of over 1,150 schools across the North East of England. We also lead the National Network of Special Schools, working with more than 400 special and alternative provision schools across England. Our mission is to advocate for schools, provide professional development opportunities, and foster collaboration.
We organise a wide range of events—from regional conferences to national summits and targeted training sessions—providing platforms for schools to collaborate, innovate, and influence education policy both regionally and nationally.
Your Role

- Collaborate with the Events Manager to develop new event formats, secure sponsorship opportunities, and identify income-generating initiatives.
- Oversee logistics to ensure the seamless execution of both in-person and virtual events.
- Build and maintain relationships with schools, sponsors, and stakeholders across the North East and nationally.
- Promote events through targeted marketing campaigns, including social media, newsletters, and other communication channels.
- Analyse event performance, collect feedback, and implement improvements to maximise impact and effectiveness.
What We’re Looking For
To excel in this role, you’ll need:
- Proven experience in event planning and management, ideally in the charity or education sector.
- A creative and proactive mindset to bring new ideas to the table for event formats, sponsorships, and partnerships.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders across the region and nationally.
- Familiarity with digital marketing tools and platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, Canva, Hootsuite).
- A passion for education and the mission of Schools North East and its National Network of Special Schools.
