Prudhoe Community High School seeks to appoint a creative, well-qualified and experienced textiles teacher with effect from December 2024 to cover a period of maternity leave. We have a highly successful Art/Textiles department. Applications are welcomed from experienced teachers who possess enthusiasm for the subject and the ability to teach at both GCSE and A-Level. Early Career Teachers are welcome to apply. Prudhoe Community High School is a 13-19 High School with approximately 770 students on roll including 200 Sixth Form. Examination results are excellent at both GCSE and Sixth Form.
In 2016, our new school building opened. We have an environment set up to support learning for all students with new Fitness Suite, 3G pitches, Engineering, Learning Resource Centre and many more outstanding facilities across the school. In September 2023 Tyne Community Learning Trust merged with the 3 Rivers Learning Trust to become the Cheviot Learning Trust consisting of 2 high schools, 5 middle schools and 11 first schools.
The school was recently inspected and continues to be good. The positive report included: ‘The school has high expectations for what pupils can achieve. It values all subjects and has developed an ambitious curriculum that reflects this. The school offers key stage 4 and 5 courses that meet pupils’ needs and interests. Pupils have positive attitudes to their learning. They achieve well. This is a calm and orderly school. Pupils behave well. They socialise happily with each other at break times and lunchtimes. In lessons, they are attentive and follow teachers’ Instructions.’ Ofsted December 2023.
