The school
Unity City Academy, built in 2002, is a 11-16 school, in the heart of Middlesbrough. The school is rated as ‘Good’ by OfSTED in May 2022. The school works collaboratively with the local community to ensure partnership working is at the heart of all it does. Unity City Academy is part of a national network of schools at AET, brought together by the belief that each and every child has an entitlement to an excellent education in every classroom, every day.
The role
We are looking for a Schools Facilities Manager to join our academy starting in April/May. As a Schools Facilities Manager you will be responsible for ensuring Unity City Academy functions safely and effectively on a daily basis. This role is key to ensuring school facilities are available and fit for purpose at all times. You will also be responsible for ensuring that the site is clean and tidy, items are moved to the appropriate place, minor repairs are made and contractors are effectively monitored whilst on site.
In particular we would welcome applications with the following:
- Experience of facilities or building management/ maintenance
- Previous experience of facilities maintenance within a school/ local government / NHS setting would be advantageous.
