Information
We seek an enthusiastic Primary teacher who is passionate about teaching, innovative and has high expectations for all our children. The role will be initially based in Year 6 for the 2024-25 academic year, so experience of UKS2 would be an advantage. There is the possibility of a TLR as Assistant Pastoral Leader for KS2 for an applicant with an interest in pastoral leadership and relevant experience. We also welcome applications from newly or recently qualified teachers.
The successful candidate will be a reflective practitioner who is able to maximise the potential of all our pupils. You will use teaching and assessment effectively to ensure that all pupils know and remember key knowledge and skills. We are also looking for a colleague who can make a contribution to the wider life of the school and supports our ethos of developing the whole child.
Our Junior School, the primary phase of our all-through school, is composed of a collegiate and committed team of practitioners who work together and support each other. We use Rosenshine’s Principles to underpin our teaching and learning, plan jointly and have a clear and centralised behaviour policy. We are an outward looking school and are keen to develop all our staff.
Polam Hall School is a 4 – 16 all-through academy and is part of Woodard Academies Trust. We have 820 pupils on roll, with one and a half forms of entry in our Primary Phase and four forms in our Secondary Phase. Polam Hall is a school with a unique and long history which today is proud to be a fully comprehensive school serving the young people of Darlington. Our mission is to educate the whole child, developing leadership, compassion, character and academic ambition, through the combination of our Academic and Concordia Crescimus curricula. We have high expectations and aspirations for every member of our school community.
Polam Hall is a community where staff and students work together for common goals. We make every effort to develop our staff team, offering professional development opportunities and the chance to be part of a wider Trust, yet retaining the friendly atmosphere of a small school. We are looking for energetic and enthusiastic people to join our team, who have children at the heart of their practice and who will help us to drive forward our aim: to deliver an outstanding education to every single one of our pupils. Visits to the school are welcome. Contact information@phs.woodard.co.uk to arrange.
