The Trustees are seeking to appoint a team of Tutors capable of delivering elements of our overall tutoring programme across one or more of the secondary academies within our trust. Our programme is split into two precise focus areas with the aim of providing targeted students additional learning opportunities that will allow them to rapidly address deficits in their learning. If successful you will be required to tutor either Maths or Science.
These focus areas are:
- Focus area one: Tutoring for Year 11 to allow them to address learning gaps ahead in the final year of their examined courses in Maths or Science.
- Focus area two: Tutoring for Year 7 and year 8 students to allow them to address literacy skills gaps that have perhaps been intensified due to the extended COVID lockdown.
- Focus area three: Tutoring for students across all year groups to allow them to ‘catch up’ with their peers following a period of absence. This could involve tutoring anyone of a number of subjects, but emphasis will be placed upon Maths or Science.
Tutors will typically work with students on a one to one basis in their own school setting, however there may be occasions where small group work would be offered where it is considered effective. In advance of each session the academy will provide tutors with all resources to be used during each session delivered.
