We are recruiting for a Finance Assistant to join us at Seaton Valley Federation. We have two positions available. This position is  full time, full year and  we are also recruiting for a part  time, term time role.

This role is an exciting opportunity to join our Business Support team.  Your main role will be to undertake all aspects of financial processing, cash handling and maintaining financial records including reconciling accounts and assisting with budget monitoring.  You will also have the opportunity to become involved in other aspects of school life, including the federation’s community learning offer, letting of facilities, and assisting in organising student trips.

With GCSE level A*-C (or equivalent) in English and Maths and ideally also a Level 3 Business and Finance qualification, you will have previous experience of financial administration including maintaining manual and digital records, processing orders/invoices and cash handling.  We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, efficient and adaptable.  You will need to enjoy paying meticulous attention to detail and achieving high standards of accuracy but equally important will be your ability to deal effectively with queries from students, staff, parents and suppliers.

The working hours of this post are 37 hours per week working Monday-Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm with a 30 minute lunch break, although there may need to be some flexibility to support school events.  This post is full year.

The post would attract 26 days’ annual leave, rising to 31 days after five years’ service. Annual leave will be taken during the school holiday periods. You would also be eligible for membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme.
