Main responsibilities include:

- To develop curricular knowledge as required by the school
- To apply the school’s Behaviour Management Policy and report any difficulties to the relevant staff member
- To set homework previously prepared by the teacher
- To undertake observations of the students and contribute to student records
Boldon School and South Tyneside Council are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. We expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment and an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) disclosure will be sought along with other relevant pre-employment checks.
Please see our Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy on Boldon School website.
In line with the guidance in Keeping Children Safe in Education, we may carry out an online search as part of our due diligence on shortlisted candidates.

Boldon School is currently categorised by Ofsted as a Good provider, with pupils’ personal development being judged as Outstanding.
Like all schools, we have faced the challenges of the post Covid educational landscape and the realignment of student attainment following the centre assessed grades of 2020 and teacher assessed grades of 2021. In our most recent examination results 56% of students achieved 9-4 in English and Mathematics and 37% 9-5. This is in line with our pre-Covid attainment. Maintaining these standards is a direct result of the hard work and dedication of all staff. Teaching standards continue to improve and our attendance teams continue to work closely with families and external agencies to raise student attendance which remains a national priority.
Boldon School continues to grow. The school is now very close to capacity; many parents and guardians are making Boldon their school of choice. For this reason, we are continually seeking the appointment of new members of staff, who are innovative, driven and share our vision to provide the highest quality of teaching and support for all our students. Boldon School is an exciting place to work and will provide you with the opportunity to truly make a difference to young people within our community.
Facilities at the school are outstanding; this includes a 220-capacity theatre, hair and beauty salons, swimming pool, flood lit artificial playing surfaces and fitness suite. We have a rich and varied extra – curricular programme. We also have our own Royal Navy Cadet Unit. In addition, we have a constantly expanding group of students engaging in the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme.
Boldon has an incredibly committed team of teachers and pastoral care team who are committed to ensuring that all students are supported and encouraged to maximise their potential, regardless of ability. Students are encouraged to be independent and develop excellent attitudes to learning.
We have strong links with the community, careers providers and further education providers. This enables all students to engage with employers and providers, which effectively complements their studies at Boldon. Our careers programme aims to provide all students with the necessary information and guidance to make informed choices about their future. We are incredibly proud of our school community and welcome visitors. If you require any further information please email:
