Are you passionate about supporting young people and making a real difference in their lives? Beacon of Light School, part of Laidlaw Schools Trust, is looking for a Behaviour and Welfare Officer to join our dedicated team.
Reporting to and working directly with the Behaviour and Welfare Lead you will play a key role in supporting students with social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties. You will help them overcome barriers to learning, promote positive behaviour, and ensure they feel included within the school community.
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate individual with experience working with young people in an educational or pastoral setting. The ideal candidate will have:
- Knowledge and understanding of the different social, cultural and physical needs of young people
- The ability to build trust and rapport with students, staff, and families
- A proactive and resilient approach to working in a dynamic school environment
- Awareness of safeguarding and child protection procedures
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
The Beacon of Light School is a unique 80 place Alternative Provision for young people aged 13-16 who are experiencing challenges in mainstream education. Our curriculum offer provides life changing opportunities to the students who attend, not only in terms of improved educational outcomes but also in the longer-term outcomes of training, work and economic wellbeing.
