North East Futures UTC is located in central Newcastle in the newly redeveloped Stephenson Quarter. The building replicates a business environment with state-of-the-art facilities. All students at North East Futures UTC specialise in either Healthcare Science or Computer Science, at 14 they will also study a broad and balanced curriculum and at Post 16 the curriculum becomes more specialist A levels and Level 3 courses. At capacity, we will be educating 600 students who will all have a passion for our specialisms.
You will lead the attendance team working to ensure attendance stays above national and regional benchmarks. Leading delivery of our attendance improvement strategy you will produce regular attendance data and work with students, parents and carers and external agencies to improve attendance, reduce persistent absence and raise achievement. The role will involve undertaking home visits, providing regular updates on student attendance and implementing strategies to improve attendance.
We are seeking a candidate with a proven track record undertaking pastoral work in a school environment, ideally in attendance, the ability to analyse and interpret data to inform practice and to then present data to school and trust leaders, excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to challenge robustly and professionally and the ability to effectively lead a team of staff.

It offers an exceptional healthcare science and digital technology focused education to up to 600 young people aged 14-18.
