Our school is one of six primary and secondary schools within the NEAT Academy Trust family of schools. At the heart of our trust is the aim to nurture, educate, achieve and transform the lives of all young people within the communities we serve across the North East. As part of our trust we have a national research school, which aims to build and strengthen networks of schools throughout the region and help them access effective education research and implement it in everyday practice.
Benfield School itself is a fully inclusive 11-16 school which has a distinct ethos with strong sense of support and loyalty. We believe excellent relationships between students and staff and a purposeful learning environment are the key to student success inside the classroom and as throughout the life of the school. With this foundation, we believe students will have a strong platform to be confident, happy and able to achieve.
Benfield School is looking to appoint a suitably skilled Assistant SENDCo to join our highly inclusive trust. This is an exciting time to join our passionate and inclusive team that support SEND pupils. You will ensure that the EHCP/Learner review process is conducted effectively across school, in line with statutory and local requirements for reporting and in line with the trusts approach to person centred reviews.
This will include coordinating and chairing EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) meetings as well as Learner Review Meetings for our students. Throughout the process, the Assistant SENDCo will be the main point of contact for external agencies and provide support to staff, parents and carers. You must be strongly motivated and possess the character needed to work in a demanding and often challenging environment.
In return we offer:
• A positive and caring ethos.
• A team of hardworking, dedicated and friendly staff where everyone is valued.
• A commitment to continuing professional development
• The benefit of working in a highly collaborative multi academy trust

NEAT Academy Trust
NEAT Academy Trust, usually known as NEAT, was formed in 2017 from an existing collaboration of schools within North East England.
Academy trusts are charitable companies set up to provide education for the public benefit. We are a “mixed” multi-academy trust as we were established to include both non-faith and Church of England schools.
