The Governors are seeking to appoint 2 highly motivated and committed Apprentice Teaching Assistants. The successful applicants will support the other staff in the welfare and support of pupils with Special Educational needs under the direction of the class teacher.
We are looking for someone who:
• Demonstrates excellent behaviour management skills
• Is able to work as a part of a team, learning with and from other colleagues
• Enjoys working independently and with initiative
• Is able to work effectively with children either individually and in small groups to enable them to achieve their best
• Is highly organised and has good time management skills
• Is flexible, proactive and resourceful
• Demonstrates good English and Mathematics skills (GCSE Grade 4 or equivalent)
• Has a good knowledge of phonics
• Has excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Understands confidentiality and safeguarding procedures
The successful applicants will undertake the Level 3 Apprenticeship in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools through New College Durham and will attend the College one day per week.

The school caters for pupils who have a range of special educational needs including moderate learning difficulties, severe learning difficulties, communication disorders (including specialist autistic provision) and complex and multiple learning difficulties.
