Working to cover short term absences, your role will be to supervise and actively engage with whole classes to ensure that cover work is delivered in a way that enables pupils to continue making progress.
Specific details regarding the role and skills and qualities that the successful candidate will need to demonstrate are in the attached job description and person specification. In addition to this we are looking for someone who:
- Will form constructive relationships with teaching colleagues to ensure learning and progress continues through cover lessons
- Will support pupils by ensuring the consistent delivery of school routines and expectations
- Will form positive relationships with pupils, being aware of SEND and other needs
- Will help support pupils at homework club and with occasional extra curricular activities
- When not supervising lessons will be proactive and flexible in supporting the school and pupils (e.g. examination support, SEND support, administration support)
- Is supportive of our inclusive and diverse nature as a school where differences are celebrated.
This role will offer you the ideal opportunity to develop your classroom management skills and experience and you will also have the opportunity to get involved in many other aspects of school life. The grade for the post is F/G (SCP 14 £27,409 – SCP 23 £32,076) pro rata to term time plus 5 days, actual salary £23,489 – £27,489. Salary depends on skills and experience.
