The North East’s leading independent girls’ day school has an exciting opportunity to provide technical support for the school and ICT systems of this thriving and busy school, one of twenty-five schools in the Girls’ Day School Trust.
We are seeking to appoint an apprentice with a passion for ICT and who will work, via a structured training path, through an apprenticeship scheme to develop their ICT support skills.
The successful candidate will work as a member of the ICT Support team to ensure the reliable provision of school ICT systems and services and will help to ensure a resilient platform is available for school ICT systems and that fallback systems are in place. A key part of your role will be resolving support issues with guidance from team members and using skills learnt from the apprenticeship and on-the-job training.
The role will involve learning all aspects of ICT support and the skills learnt will allow the successful candidate to be able to work towards completion of the apprenticeship programme. The role will provide you with confidence in all aspects of ICT support, including installation, set-up, upgrading, maintenance and support of a wide range of ICT equipment, including printers, monitors, computers, mobile devices and scanners. You will become adept at supporting academic staff and pupils with ICT issues, carrying out basic ICT equipment repairs and installing computer software as directed, to name but a few.

Newcastle High School for Girls
Newcastle High School for Girls is one of the North East’s leading independent girls’ day schools. Founded in 2014 following the merger of two very long standing predecessor schools, NHSG is a state-of-the-art, modern school with a tradition and history stemming back almost 150 years.
We are an all through school (ages 3-18) with around 250 girls in the Junior School and 450 in the Senior School, including 150 in the Sixth Form, who, together with around 150 staff, make up a friendly and welcoming community.
The Junior and Senior Schools occupy their own separate campuses around a mile apart and the role will require working at both locations. Our two campuses are situated within the suburban, leafy, areas of Jesmond and Sandyford, both with excellent transport links to the Tyne & Wear Metro and bus services from across the region.
