St Anne’s Catholic Primary School is a ‘Good’ rated school based in Harlow Green with 135 children on roll. We are looking to appoint a School Administrator. We wish to appoint a committed, well-qualified and highly effective Level 3 1:1 Teaching Assistant to work with and support identified children with specified academic, physical and emotional/ behavioural/ medical needs on an individual basis.
We are seeking an individual to:
- Work with SEN children, as directed by the class teacher and/or SENCO, to support subjects and learning across the whole curriculum.
- Establish a supportive, caring and secure relationship with SEN children, promoting respect, self-esteem and a positive, inclusive whole school ethos.
- Develop knowledge and understanding of the specific academic, physical and emotional/ behavioural/ medical needs of children and respond to them effectively.
- Assist the class teacher/SENCO with the planning, development and delivery of suitable programmes of work for the pupils.
- Support class teachers to design, create and produce individualised learning activities, materials and resources to support aspects of the curriculum or particular learning outcomes, and to assist and support children in using them.
- Help support and motivate children, clarifying instructions, encouraging independent learning and behaviour and enabling learning targets and outcomes to be achieved.
- Contribute to monitoring and recording pupil progress, maintaining records and providing relevant feedback to teachers.
- Provide welfare support to children, including administering First Aid (dependent on training) and attending to personal hygiene and identified medical needs as required.
- Liaise with outside agencies, where appropriate, in respect of children.
- Assist with general school duties which may include: setting up classrooms, preparing resources and displays and tidying and clearing away, supervision of children during playtimes, supervision of children entering and leaving school premises.
- Work on children’s EHCP targets.
- Support the Catholic ethos of our school.
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience of providing SEN Support and teaching individuals and small groups.
- Experience in planning learning for individuals and small groups.
- Experience of working with children with general and specific learning difficulties.
- The ability to use skills, expertise and experience to support pupil learning.
- The ability to provide engaging 1:1 support.
- A caring and positive approach to children to ensure all pupils achieve their very best.

Bishop Wilkinson Catholic Education Trust, is currently a family of 5 secondary schools and 21 primary schools from across Gateshead, Sunderland, Durham and Northumberland, in the west of the Diocese of Hexham and Newcastle.
