We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, highly motivated and inspirational teacher of Music.
The Performing Arts department is led by a music specialist and is thriving, with a reputation for excellent teaching and learning. All students study music at Key Stage 3 and an increasing number of students have been choosing to continue their studies at Key Stage 4 where students achieve excellent results in BTEC Level 2 in Music. With the current growth in uptake we also run a Level 3 BTEC Music Performance course with students achieving excellent grades.
The department has two dedicated music classrooms and has a range of resources including an IT suite with Mixcraft and Sibelius, two class sets of keyboards, a class set of Ukuleles, a range of guitars, drum kits, Samba Kits and Djembes.
We have an excellent team of visiting peripatetic staff offering a range of instrumental tuition who actively support and liaise with the department in supporting the curriculum. We offer a number of enrichment opportunities, including annual productions, a choir and numerous bands. Students are frequently involved in local events within the community and are showcased in county based music ventures on a regular basis.
As part of the Performing Arts department, which includes drama and dance staff, you will work closely with and be supported by colleagues that share the same passion and drive towards the continued success of the department.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a school where the headteacher and governing body are committed to supporting arts’ education and be part of an incredible group of staff who will always go the extra mile for our students.
