Haydon Bridge High School (HBHS) is a small but growing secondary school nestled in the rural west of Northumberland. There are currently around 450 young people on roll from Year 7 to 13.
We are looking to appoint a non-teaching member of the school leadership team that will inspire and guide students at HBHS to reach their full potential in school and in their wider life choices.
As Head of Pastoral Care, you will:
- Lead behaviour strategies across the school, ensuring that all children learn in a calm and engaging environment;
- Work with children and adults in a restorative way to ensure that their behavioural needs are met;
- Work with external agencies to meet the needs of all young people in our care, including those taught at alternative provision;
- Lead the internal inclusion provision in school, including intervention sessions at given times of the day;
- Ensure effective safeguarding is maintained by leading staff training and by effective use of internal and external data and processes
You will have:
- Experience of working in a pastorally-focused environment at a managerial level and with young people specifically;
- A strong working knowledge of safeguarding, behaviour and attendance;
- Experience of successfully working with vulnerable people and those with special educational needs;
- A strong commitment and ability to work with external agencies and the wider community;
